HAMPSTEAD GARDEN OPERA TO MOVE TO JACKSONS LANE THEATRE
Hampstead Garden Opera has announced plans to move from the cosy theatre above the Gatehouse pub in Highgate to the nearby (and bigger) Jacksons Lane theatre. From 2016, the company’s operas will all be performed at this 166-seat venue, so that its singers “will be able to project their voices into a more generous space” says HGO chairman Roger Sainsbury.
“We look forward to performing at Jacksons Lane, the ethos of which very much aligns with our mission of giving performance opportunities to young people”.
Hampstead Garden Opera provides North London with high quality live opera experiences at accessible prices. Its final show at Upstairs at the Gatehouse will be Don Giovanni this November. The company is also holding a fundraising concert on 15th August at St Michael’s Church, Highgate. For more details, visit hgo.org.uk.
